MEET THE CHET FSC STAFF:

Aaron Lawson, Court Advocate

Aaron has been our Court Advocate since 2018.  Aaron attends court 3 days each week in Campbell County and readily serves survivors of domestic violence.  Aaron guides clients through the process of getting Orders of Protection and makes frequent referrals to Legal Aid.  Aaron attends court with both residential and nonresidential clients and provides encouragement and support to survivors as they navigate the criminal justice process. Aaron holds an Associate’s Degree from TCAT.

Penny Pollard, Family Justice Center Advocate

Penelope Pollard has 22 years of experience serving survivors of domestic violence.  As the Adult Wellness Advocate, Penny is responsible for providing safety planning, advocacy, and case management to adult residents at the Claiborne County shelter by coordinating in-house and community resources to meet the needs of clients.

Prior to joining CHET, she was shelter manager and victim’s advocate at Haven House in Ohio. Penelope is a graduate of Ohio Christian University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and Psychology.

Liz White

Child Welfare DV Liaison

Liz has been with the FSC since 2017 and   Liz provides weekly support groups for both residential and nonresidential clients.  Liz is an expert on the cycle of domestic abuse and uses her skills to empower and encourage survivors.

Liz has a Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies from Appalachian Bible College and has 25 years’ experience working in the field of social services.

Jessica Chapman, Case Manager

Jessica Chapman joined the CHET Family Services team in September of 2022. Jessica plays an imperative role in helping to permanently house survivors.  Jessica assists the clients with obtaining all resources needed and aids clients in creating individual goals for themselves.

Jessica was previously employed as a dispatcher with the LaFollette Police Department and recognizes all of the elements involved in domestic calls. Jessica also has a background in foster parenting and understands how adverse childhood experiences impact individuals.

Robyn Glandon, Assistant Program Manager

Robyn has been with the FSC since 2017 and supervises the Claiborne County staff and manages the Claiborne County shelter.

Robyn is a 2017 graduate of TCAT a holds diplomas in Payroll and Accounting as well as Medical Billing, Insurance and Coding.  Robyn assists residential clients in Campbell County.  Robyn provides continual support for our survivors and has helped a multitude of families.

 

  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc.2

    • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. This includes a range of behaviors (e.g. slapping, shoving, pushing) and in some cases might not be considered "domestic violence." 1

    • 1 in 7 women and 1 in 25 men have been injured by an intimate partner.1

    • 1 in 10 women have been raped by an intimate partner. Data is unavailable on male victims.1 

  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.1

  • 1 in 7 women and 1 in 18 men have been stalked by an intimate partner during their lifetime to the point in which they felt very fearful or believed that they or someone close to them would be harmed or killed.
